1959- WHAT A LONG TIME AGO!

I wanted an idea of what the world was like in 1959. Was there electricity? Were there cars? Had color been invented yet or was everything really in black and white? Well, here are the findings of what happened in 1959:

-Fidel Castro took control of Cuba
-Disney released Sleeping Beauty
-Alaska and Hawaii were admitted as the 49th and 50th states
-Plane crash killed Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and The Big Bopper
-The Barbie Doll debuted

So there you have it- some dead rockers, a mean commie, dolls and cartoons were invented, and United States were formed. Wow! That really was a long time ago!
